The SESOLINC Group sponsors educational and sports activities, providing competitive opportunities,  job training and internships that pave meaningful career paths for young talents.

  • Cheetah Baez, a young golf prodigy from Florida, creates waves at the Kids Golf World Championships, where a global stage for young golfers fosters family bonds and creates lasting memories.
  • Through hands-on experience and competitive challenges, Georgia Southern University’s Eagle Motorsports teams drive engineering innovation.

The SESOLINC Group strongly believes in sponsoring local educational and sports activities for children and young adults. This often translates into job training and internships for local individuals interested in welding and fabrication and college and university students. Multiple GSU engineering students have interned at The SESOLINC Group, with some joining the company full-time after graduation and others utilizing the experience to secure engineering positions in other areas.

US Kids World Championships

The U.S. Kids Golf World Championships have become integral to the global golf community. They offer young golfers the opportunity to showcase their skills on an international stage while fostering a deep bond between parents and children. This annual event has grown tremendously from its humble beginnings and is now a vital pillar of the U.S. and international kids’ golf communities.

What began as a single tournament for kids golf in Jekyll Island, Georgia, with 220 participants from five countries, has blossomed into a network of 115 tournaments held worldwide. The event set a new standard for what a family-oriented golf tournament could be, with parents taking an active role as caddies. This unique aspect of the tournament has been credited by many as a significant highlight, strengthening the bond between parent and child. Creating lifelong memories from a thrilling experience is more important to many families than competing; they want to make memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

The championship event for US Kids Golf is the World Championships, which is currently hosted in the famed Pinehurst, North Carolina. With its rich golf history, it provides a fitting backdrop for the event, where young golfers from around the world come together to compete. The tournament has grown to host more than 2,300 players from over 50 countries annually, making it one of the most significant events in youth golf.

Cheetah Beaz

Among the athletes, 8-year-old Cheetah Baez from Palm City, Florida, is making waves in the golf community. She may be young, but she is already a seasoned competitor, having won numerous tournaments locally, nationally, and internationally. Due to weather delays, several age groups were combined to ensure that the competition could be completed with an age range of 8–9. She placed 6th out of 44 in the combined and expanded group, which highlights her potential and her bright future in the sport.

Cheetah has accomplished so much, and we are very proud of her and excited to watch her continue to dominate the golf course. You can follow her Instagram handle, @cheetahbaez, for more information on her.

Eagle Motorsports (EMS) Competes in Motorsport Racing

Eagle Motorsports is the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Chapter at Georgia Southern University, which stands as a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of the university’s students. Comprising both a Baja SAE and Formula Electric SAE team, EMS offers a platform where students from various disciplines come together to push the boundaries of their engineering knowledge. These teams compete in collegiate motorsport racing series, where the challenge is not only to build Baja and formula-style race cars but to innovate and excel in a highly competitive environment.

This is centered around its two teams, Formula Electric SAE and Baja SAE. Although they have distinct areas of expertise, these teams have the same objective: to develop, construct, and compete with their vehicles worldwide. The teams design a new car every year, expanding on their prior knowledge and expertise. The teams can hone their abilities and create more competitive vehicles thanks to this iterative design and invention process.

The Baja SAE team focuses on creating challenging, off-road cars that can survive the most extreme circumstances. A variety of real-world scenarios, such as obstacle courses and endurance races, are used to test these vehicles. The Formula Electric SAE team designs and builds high-performance electric race cars. The teams’ engineering and technological prowess is tested when these vehicles compete in a series of events designed to measure their speed, handling, and efficiency.

The students engage in various competitive events that push their limits beyond their engineering knowledge. Teams compete against peers from universities worldwide in areas such as business, design, cost analysis, and racing. These competitions give students a broad stage to display their technical skills, inventiveness, and collaboration.

Moreover, they allow undergraduate students to study sophisticated subjects and become proficient with equipment and software usually only found in advanced courses. They have a huge edge when they enter the workforce because of their early exposure to sophisticated tools and methodologies, allowing them to hone their skills through real-world application. Students are more equipped to handle real-world problems and meet the demands of professional engineering employment because of the practical experience they receive from EMS projects.

By the time they graduate, these students will have mastered project management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, all of which are highly valued in the industrial sector, in addition to their technical knowledge.
